Broad Reach believes that proofreading is an important final step in the creative process. Proofreading is sometimes confused with editing, but they are very different processes. Proofreading is done after the writing and editing is complete. It is the final check before a document goes to print and is often the last place to catch errors. Proofreading can be done on Word or PDF documents. It can include, but is not limited to, incorporating clients’ final changes, reviewing the overall quality of images and layout, checking page breaks and location of images, ensuring headings are accurate and consistent, and finalizing the table of contents and all cross-references.
